SDO CITY OF MALOLOS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES VALID-LR MONITORING

Strengthening accountability and ensuring the integrity of learning resource inventories in schools
The Schools Division Office (SDO) of the City of Malolos successfully conducted the Learning Resources Monitoring and Evaluation: Validation of Inventory and Delivery of Learning Resources (VALID-LR) on October 19–22, 2026, in coordination with the Bureau of Learning Resources (BLR) and the Department of Education Regional Office.
The monitoring activity was conducted by Ms. Josefina F. Dacallos and Mr. Janssen Louel C. Dabuet of the Schools Division Office of Samar, who served as monitors in validating the inventory and delivery status of learning resources in selected schools in the Division.
Based on the BLR-prescribed classifications, the following schools were monitored: Stma. Trinidad Elementary School, CMIS–Catmon, CMHS–Stma. Trinidad, Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School, CMIS–Atlag, and City of Malolos Senior High School
The activity focused on validating learning resource inventories, verifying delivery records and supporting documents, and examining the status and management of learning resources in the monitored schools. It also provided an opportunity to identify operational concerns and reinforce the importance of accurate inventory records, proper documentation, and responsible resource management.
The successful conduct of VALID-LR reflects the continued commitment of the SDO City of Malolos to transparency, accountability, and the efficient management of learning resources. Through strengthened monitoring and validation mechanisms, the Division aims to ensure that learning resources are properly accounted for and managed to support the teaching and learning process.
The SDO City of Malolos extends its appreciation to Ms. Dacallos and Mr. Dabuet for their assistance and collaboration, as well as to the school heads and concerned personnel who supported the successful implementation of the activity.

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – The Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos successfully conducted the Collaborative Planning and Focus Group Discussion of Division Federated Batang Empowered and Resilient Team (BERT) Officers and Advisers on September 22, 2026, at the Malolos City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Operations Center Training Room in Bulihan, City of Malolos.
The activity gathered learner representatives, BERT advisers, education officials, and resource speakers to strengthen youth leadership, disaster preparedness, environmental responsibility, and active participation in building resilient school communities. It also provided a venue for participants to exchange experiences and best practices and collaboratively develop Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) for School Year 2026–2027.
The program featured sessions on leadership development among BERT officers, sharing of best practices in disaster preparedness, and environmental ethics and sustainable development. Resource speakers included Jommel P. Roque, RPm, LPT, Qwncy Winona C. Bernardo, and Erwin C. Pagtalunan, PhD.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the election of the Division-Federated BERT Officers for S.Y. 2026–2027, facilitated by Benedict C. Punzalan, Project Development Officer I. The newly established federation is expected to provide learners with a stronger voice and greater opportunities to take active roles in school disaster risk reduction and resilience initiatives.
The participants also took part in a collaborative workshop facilitated by Krizza Andrea M. Garcia, RPm, LPT, Project Development Officer II, where they developed proposed BERT PPAs centered on resilience, disaster preparedness, and community involvement. The outputs were subsequently presented and critiqued to help strengthen the proposed initiatives for implementation during the school year.
The activity underscored the commitment of the Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos, under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Leilani Samson Cunanan, CESO V, to empowering learners not only as beneficiaries of disaster preparedness programs but also as active partners and young leaders in building safer, more resilient, and environmentally responsible school communities.

MALOLOS CITY – Young advocates from the Batang Empowered and Resilient Team (BERT) of Bulihan National High School took center stage during Save the Children Philippines’ Humanitarian Forum, where they shared their experiences, insights, and perspectives on disaster preparedness and meaningful child participation.
The forum, themed “Impact in Motion: Reimagining Private Sector Engagement in Humanitarian Action,” brought together representatives from the private sector and other stakeholders to strengthen conversations on humanitarian action and disaster resilience.
Representing the Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos, selected BERT learners and teacher-advisers from Bulihan NHS participated in the activity, providing an important opportunity for the voices of young people to be heard in discussions concerning disaster preparedness and humanitarian response.
A highlight of the forum was the presentation of BERT-Bulihan NHS, where the young leaders shared their firsthand experiences with disasters and presented insights on emergency preparedness systems that learners helped develop. Their presentation underscored the value of empowering children and young people not merely as beneficiaries of disaster risk reduction initiatives, but as active partners in building safer and more resilient schools and communities.
During the discussion, BERT representatives Aliyah and Gracie emphasized that meaningful youth participation is made possible when adults and organizations intentionally invest in, listen to, and create spaces for children to contribute to matters that directly affect them.
Their participation demonstrated the importance of school-based organizations such as BERT in developing learners’ awareness, leadership, preparedness, and capacity to take an active role in disaster risk reduction and management.
The forum also provided an avenue for dialogue between young advocates and representatives from the business sector, highlighting how partnerships among schools, communities, humanitarian organizations, and private institutions can contribute to stronger preparedness and response systems before, during, and after emergencies.
Through the participation of BERT-Bulihan NHS, the Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos continues to advance a culture of safety, resilience, and meaningful learner participation. The activity further reinforced the principle that building disaster-resilient communities requires listening to children and ensuring that young people are provided opportunities to actively contribute to decisions concerning their safety and future.
The involvement of BERT-Bulihan NHS also reflects the continuing commitment of the Division to empowering Maloleño learners to become informed, prepared, and resilient young leaders who can contribute meaningfully to disaster preparedness and humanitarian action within their schools and communities.

REGION III YOUTH FORMATORS STRENGTHEN LEADERSHIP THROUGH PROGRAM MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Youth Formators from across Region III, together with school PDOs and selected non-teaching personnel, gathered for the Youth Formators Program Management and Leadership Training held on September 15–17, 2026, at Anne Raquel’s Hillside Resort and Hotel, Olongapo City, Zambales. The activity provided a venue for participants to strengthen their leadership and program management competencies in support of youth formation initiatives in their respective Schools Division Offices and schools.
A significant highlight of the activity was the election of regional officers of the Pambansang Samahan ng mga Tagapaghubog ng Pilipinas (PSTP), the official organization under the Department of Education (DepEd) composed of Youth Formation Coordinators.
Representing the Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos, Mary Arlene D.R. Bongola (PDO I) was elected as Information Officer, while Emermay C. Puquiz (PDO I) was elected as Protocol Officer.
The participation of school PDOs and selected non-teaching personnel further enriched the activity by strengthening coordination and collaboration among personnel supporting youth formation initiatives at the school and division levels.
The activity further strengthened leadership, collaboration, and coordination among Youth Formators and other personnel supporting youth formation programs across Region III, contributing to the continued implementation of initiatives that promote learner leadership, participation, and holistic development.

2026 DIVISION MATHEMATICS FAIR HIGHLIGHTS MATHEMATICAL EXCELLENCE AND AI-DRIVEN INNOVATION

The Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos conducted the 2026 Division Mathematics Fair (DMF) on September 18, 2026, at City of Malolos Integrated School–Sto. Rosario, gathering learners and education personnel in a celebration of mathematical competence, creativity, and innovation.
Carrying the theme, “Driven by Math, Powered by AI: Empowering Minds to Innovate, Adapt, and Lead,” the Division Mathematics Fair provided a platform for learners to demonstrate their mathematical knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to engage with emerging technologies.
The activity featured various mathematics-related activities and competitions designed to encourage learners to apply mathematical concepts, explore innovative approaches, and develop skills essential for adapting to an increasingly technology-driven learning environment.
Through the 2026 DMF, the Schools Division Office of the City of Malolos continues to promote mathematics as a foundation for critical thinking, innovation, and lifelong learning, while encouraging learners to become confident problem-solvers and future-ready individuals.

SDO CITY OF MALOLOS HOLDS 2026 RESEARCH AND INNOVATION CONGRESS

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of the City of Malolos convened education personnel, researchers, and innovators for the 2026 Schools Division Research and Innovation Congress on September 11 and 18, 2026, at Centro Escolar University–Malolos Campus.
Anchored on the theme, “From Ideas to Impact: Harnessing Research and Innovation for Educational Transformation,” the two-day congress provided a platform for the presentation, dissemination, and recognition of research and innovation outputs developed by teaching, teaching-related, and non-teaching personnel.
The activity sought to strengthen the culture of research in the Division, showcase evidence-based practices and innovations, recognize notable research outputs, and facilitate the sharing of strategies that may contribute to improving the delivery of basic education services.
The congress featured Elementary and Secondary Research Presentations, Basic Education Research Fund (BERF) presentations, and Innovation Presentations, highlighting studies and initiatives addressing various educational needs and challenges.
Through the congress, research findings and innovative practices were brought closer to practice—affirming the Division’s continuing commitment to evidence-informed decision-making and meaningful educational transformation.
From ideas to impact, Malolenyo educators continue to research, innovate, and transform education.
